When cyclone Tracy hit Darwin in 1974. Tony Nero was performing in a holiday resort and was battered by fierce storms.

Builder by Trade has played at other venues in Australia and on cruise ships. He has also returned to his rural homeland Conflenti in Italy, to absorb the music of that region.  This also where he met his wife to be before the pair returned to Sydney.
